In terms of bangs for your bucks you're usually better off with building your own pc and running windows. in terms of stability I found hardly and differences. I've worked on windows and mac with cinema 4D (and adobe software) and to be honest it takes just a few days of getting used to the OS. You'll be staying within the cinema 4D software that pretty much works the same on either platform. In the end it all comes down to personal preference to OS, how the actual hardware looks and if you want to run any mac or win only software.
